Plot and Screenplay

The film sets an intriguing premise, reminiscent of Murugadoss's earlier successful thrillers like Ghajini and Thuppakki. The central character, Raghu Ram (Sivakarthikeyan), is a man who struggles with a desire to die following heartbreak, but whose psychological condition makes him a compulsive do-gooder with heightened 'animal instincts'. He crosses paths with NIA officer Premnath (Biju Menon), leading to their unusual collaboration against the powerful antagonist Virat (Vidyut Jammwal).

Tha first half : is generally praised for its effective setup, including Raghu's peculiar characterisation, the romantic track with Malathi (Rukmini Vasanth), and the initial glimpses of the action-thriller plot. The way Raghu's condition is connected to the film's social message about gun violence is considered a smart piece of writing. However, some critics note that the first half is often slowed down by an excess of songs and an underdeveloped romantic storyline, creating tonal inconsistency.

Tha second half : is where opinions diverge. While some found it a muscular, high-octane action entertainer with a good pace, others felt the narrative lost control and became predictable. The core conflict and the social message remain, but the execution is sometimes criticised for relying on commercial cinema clichés—such as an invincible hero and over-the-top action sequences that lack proper build-up. The inclusion of a serious topic like gun culture is appreciated, but the overall execution is seen by some as not reaching the thrilling heights of the director's best work.
